Encaustics

Year of the Ox

Encaustic Wax is an unusual medium and my absolute favourite. It is created by molten wax on photographic paper or wood board by using a small hot iron. How to manipulate the wax and knowing when to stop is important because with one movement of the iron it can all change for better or worse!

I divide my Encaustic art into two groups – General, which are mainly abstract with elements from nature and Seasons.

The image, taken from our home is from 2021, which was the Year of the Ox.
